Moonwatch

Moonwatch stands at the mouth of the Graymoon River and the Trade Road of Breland. Because of its position on the Northwestern point of The Hilt allows Moonwatch to take in many traders that seek to avoid the higher tax rates in Sharn. Here travelers and traders use the old Trade Road that runs to the Northeast. The people that live on the outer reaches of Moonwatch make their living farming the fertile lands, or raising livestock. On the other hand, the people that live within the walls of Moonwatch are often artisans, laborers, or merchants. People without any such marketable skill can make a living as porters, carrying cargo from the lower ridge to the upper ridge (or vice versa).

Moonwatch imports finished goods from all over Khorvaire. It also trades with the nearby port city of Sharn.

Moonwatch

A small town built on the mouth of a fertile river valley.

Population
2,000; and another 1,000 or so live in the countryside within a few miles of the town. The people of Moonwatch are mostly human, elves, and the occasional dwarf. While these are normal residents of Moonwatch, because of its seat on The Hilt, it sees all races traveling through.
Government
The human noble Ash Grayson, a former adventurer, is a the Lord Warden of the town. He is in charge of the town’s justice, defense, and laws. The Lord Warden appoints a village council, made up of people from all walks of life to look after commerce and public projects.
Defense
The town hosts 60 standing warriors that act as constables. In times of dire need, the Lord Warden can call up 350 militia if needed.
